Illustrating your data
Once you’ve created an asset in Huwise and configured its access, most often users can:
Find it in your catalog
Browse its content
Download it
Consume it using APIs
But your data only shines when it’s explored and actually understood. Huwise offers multiple ways to present your data and put it “onstage."
Huwise gives you the tools to build dynamic visualizations and data stories to help your users find and consume what they need. This is an overview of those tools, and where to go to learn more.
The right illustration, in the right place
Every asset can be made more attractive and clear using up to five preview images, and if your asset is a dataset you can add custom views or customizable CTAs (calls to action), depending on what you wish to accomplish with your data.
Even more powerful, you can create pages and presentations with your data through our growing no-code data-illustration tool, Studio. And if you need something completely customized, you can still create your own pages with the Code editor and widgets.
Adding preview images
To add preview images to your asset, open the asset in your back office and click on the Preview tab. You can add up to 5 previews in .png, .jpeg and .gif formats.
Adding custom views to a dataset
When curating a dataset, you can add custom views — additional tabs on your dataset's page, each offering a curated, interactive presentation of your data. To add custom views, go to your dataset, click on Edit content and then on the Custom Views tab.
Building data stories in the Studio
You may want to create a page to present your data with more context and detail. Maybe you need a dashboard, or a page to document an initiative your company has begun. Perhaps you need a map, or need a complex combination of several data sources, with interactive filters to let users discover insights on their own.
You can build all of these data stories using Studio, designed to help you create powerful and accessible editorial content using your data.
Create advanced pages using the Code editor
If you have a very specific page or application in mind, with precise interactions or workflow that Studio does not yet provide, you can use the Code editor to build an entirely customized page. This will require writing HTML and CSS, and use Huwise Widgets to include visualization and filters.
