If you're not currently part of the new data marketplace experience, reach out to your CSM or account executive to start making the change today. See our guide for how to transition to the new marketplace experience for more information.

Huwise’s mission is to turn data into a source of insight and innovation, accessible to everyone.

Huwise has designed a data product marketplace solution to encourage users to share and consume data assets—tangible units that enable data to circulate. For this, you need two ingredients: effortless access to and consumption of existing assets, and proactive creation and sharing of new ones—with no technical skills required.

Accessing and consuming data

The first pillar is easy access: people need to find, understand, and use data easily. Here is the recipe:

An e-commerce-like experience

More than a just a portal for your data, Huwise is a data marketplace—a familiar e-commerce-like interface that makes browsing data intuitive and accessible to non-technical users. It’s like shopping on Amazon, only without price tags. Have a look:

This approach turns data discovery into an intuitive self-service experience, eliminating the back-and-forth between data publishers and data explorers.

Data consumption journey

Similar to any e-commerce experience, the asset discovery journey follows three steps, guiding the user from finding the right asset to making use of it and deriving value from it.

Step 1. Discovery

Discovery starts when you find relevant data assets through an intelligent search. Each data asset card provides a short overview so you can quickly assess whether it’s worth exploring. When something catches your eye, you simply click the card to open the full asset page.

Step 2. Evaluation

On the asset page, you dive deeper. You’ll find detailed metadata such as the asset’s description, owner, and last update. This information helps you decide whether the asset fits your needs. Clear call-to-action buttons guide your next move—such as exploring or downloading.

Step 3. Data consumption

The end result: data consumption—exploring, downloading, exporting, or connecting data to an external tool via its API. You can also take other actions, like bookmarking the asset for later.

Centralized access

In most organizations, a large amount of data assets are scattered over multiple tools. A Huwise data marketplace serves as the unique point of access for all of an organization's data:

  1. Some data assets are stored directly in Huwise

  2. Others are referenced from external sources (like PowerBI).

Search results show both internal and external assets—external ones link back to their original source.

Publishing and sharing data

Data publishing shouldn’t be limited to a handful of experts—that's neither scalable nor sustainable. Instead, a data marketplace should empower non-technical teams to contribute too. Two ingredients make this possible: a simple, intuitive sharing process and high-quality data assets.

Easy sharing

Every step of the data publishing process is designed to remove friction—from uploading the right source to configuring the default view and defining access permissions. And of course, detailed documentation is available to guide you through data publishing process.

Portal administrators can assign specific permissions to publishers, ensuring that the right people can share data while maintaining control. This autonomy reduces dependency on technical experts and speeds up the sharing of useful assets.

Enhancing data quality

Simplicity alone isn’t enough—the marketplace must ensure the data shared is discoverable, reliable and usable. Through an intuitive interface, data publishers are encouraged to design insightful visualizations, enrich their assets with complete metadata, configure the asset page, and more.

Use cases

Huwise’s solution is flexible: It can support open data initiatives, internal data marketplaces, and even ecosystem-based collaborations.

For open data, organizations can make their assets publicly available: users explore and reuse data, while the organization keeps full control over what is shared.

For internal marketplaces, access is limited to members of the organization. This setup helps teams discover and reuse existing data instead of recreating it, reduces silos, and encourages collaboration across departments. Everyone—from analysts to business teams—can explore, publish, and consume data safely within a trusted environment.

For ecosystem use cases, Huwise enables controlled sharing with external stakeholders such as partners, suppliers, or clients. Each partner can access only the data relevant to them.
